Why this certificate exists

Most people delivering this were handed a curriculum, not a training.

Relationships and sexuality education is taught in schools, communities and organisations by people who were rarely trained to teach it, and who are often working in contexts where the guidance changes at the border.

This certificate provides frameworks that travel. They are grounded in consent, wellbeing and human rights rather than in any one country's syllabus, so they hold up whether you are teaching fourteen year olds, running a community programme, or writing the policy others deliver from.

No prior specialist knowledge is assumed. There is no expectation that you already know. Learning begins with curiosity.

Who it is for

Delivering it, or designing what others deliver.

Designed for you if you

  • Teach relationships and sexuality education in a school setting.
  • Run programmes in community, youth or faith based contexts.
  • Design curriculum, policy or training for other educators.
  • Work across cultures, jurisdictions or age groups where one approach will not transfer.
  • Have been handed this subject without ever being trained in it.

What it will not do

  • It will not qualify you as a therapist or a clinician.
  • It will not replace your employer's requirements, your jurisdiction's mandated curriculum, or your own teaching qualification.
  • It will not hand you a script. It builds frameworks you apply to your own setting, because a script written for one country fails in the next.
Learning outcomes

What you will be able to do.

By the end, you will

  • Apply consent grounded frameworks across age groups and settings.
  • Adapt material to different cultural and jurisdictional contexts without losing the principle.
  • Deliver sensitive content in clear, accessible language.
  • Respond to disclosures and difficult questions within your role.
  • Integrate wellbeing and human rights into curriculum and policy design.

How it is taught

  • Structured modules, from a welcome and overview through to the final capstone.
  • Clear, accessible language, which is also what the course is teaching you to use.
  • Evidence informed frameworks rather than opinion or a single national curriculum.
  • Practical reflection and integration, so it lands in your own setting rather than staying theoretical.
How it is delivered

Self paced, trauma informed, consent centred.

The course runs from a welcome and overview module through to a final capstone, with a brief and templates you work through and submit. A certificate is issued on completion.

Most people take the Practitioner Pathway first

The Practitioner Pathway, also $1,495, covers the ethical and trauma aware foundations this certificate builds on. If you are choosing between them and you deliver education, either order works, but the foundations make the capstone easier.

Educational, not clinical. The School of Sexual Wellness provides education and wellbeing support. It is not therapy or counselling, does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, and is not a replacement for clinical or professional care.
