The Barely Body-Safe Standard

We say every product meets a published standard. This is the standard. If a product cannot meet all four rules below, we do not sell it.

The four rules

What a product has to clear.

01   Non-porous materials only Every surface intended for body contact is medical-grade silicone, ABS plastic, borosilicate glass, or stainless steel. Porous materials, including TPE, TPR, jelly rubber and soft PVC, are excluded. Porous surfaces cannot be fully cleaned, which is a hygiene issue rather than a preference.
02   Full material disclosure The body-contact material is named plainly on every product page. Not "silicone-blend," not "body-safe material," not "premium composite." If we cannot state what something is made of, it does not go on the shelf.
03   Sanitisable in normal use Every product can be cleaned properly with soap and warm water, and we tell you which items can go further than that. Care instructions are provided for each product rather than left to guesswork.
04   Safe by design Anything intended for anal use has a flared base. Restraints have a quick-release. Rechargeable products use sealed, purpose-built charging. Design safety is a requirement, not a feature we charge extra for.

What this standard is not

We would rather be precise than impressive.

This is our own purchasing standard. It is not a government certification, and there is no regulator that certifies intimate products as body-safe. That absence is exactly why the "novelty" loophole exists, and exactly why we published this.

These are wellness products, not medical devices. They are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any condition.

Hold us to it.

If you find a product in our range where the material is not stated, or where the description does not match what arrived, tell us. We will correct the listing or remove the product, and we will refund you.

A standard nobody can check is just marketing. Email hello@schoolofsexualwellness.com.

Every product in the range clears this standard.
