Whips, Paddles & Ticklers
Whips, Paddles & Ticklers
Impact and sensation toys span an enormous range, from soft ticklers to floggers and paddles. Choosing well is mostly about intensity, and using them well is mostly about knowing where not to strike.
Browse the collectionIntensity is the whole spectrum.
These implements vary enormously. Smaller, softer designs suit gentle sensation play, while heavier ones create much stronger physical feedback. Most people find their preference sits further toward the gentle end than they expected, and there is no progression you are supposed to work through.
Ticklers
Feathers and soft fronds. No impact at all, working through anticipation and light touch, especially when paired with a blindfold.
Floggers
Multiple soft falls that spread force across a wide area. Suede or soft leather is very forgiving and easy to control.
Paddles
A flat surface delivering a broader, thuddier sensation. Leather is softer than wood, and surface area softens the impact.
Crops
A small tip concentrating force into a precise area. Stingier than thuddy, and requires more accuracy.
Single-tail whips
Genuinely difficult to use safely and capable of breaking skin. Not a beginner purchase, and worth learning properly first.
Thud versus sting
Broad and heavy reads as thud, small and fast reads as sting. Knowing which you prefer narrows the choice immediately.
The map matters more than the implement.
This is the part that prevents genuine injury. Impact belongs on padded areas with no organs or nerve bundles underneath.
Safe: buttocks and upper thighs
Fleshy, well padded, and the reason nearly all impact play stays here. The backs of thighs are also fine.
Never: the lower back
The kidneys sit here with little protection. Impact over them can cause serious internal injury and is the most common dangerous mistake.
Never: spine, tailbone, joints
Bone close to the surface, with nothing to absorb force. Damage here is lasting rather than temporary.
Never: head, neck or face
Entirely off limits. There is no safe way to apply impact to these areas at home.
Warm up first
Start light and build gradually. Cold skin marks and bruises far more readily than skin that has been warmed up.
Check in, and check the skin
Broken skin, welts that do not fade, or numbness mean stop. Bruising that spreads or worsens afterwards is worth medical advice.
Consent, safeword, aftercare.
The same non-negotiables that apply to all power exchange apply here, and they matter more once impact is involved.
Negotiate beforehand
Agree intensity, areas, and what is off the table, while you are both calm and clothed.
Set a safeword
A word that stops everything immediately, no discussion. Agree a physical signal too if speech may be limited.
Sober, and unhurried
Alcohol and drugs blunt both judgement and pain response, which are exactly what keep this safe.
Aftercare afterwards
Warmth, water and conversation. Check in the following day as well, for skin and for how you both feel.

Looking after your gear.
Leather, wiped not soaked
A damp cloth and air drying. Submerging leather ruins it, and heat sources crack it.
Check for damage each time
Splinters, cracks, loose falls or frayed stitching all cause injury. Inspect before every use.
Personal, or properly cleaned
Anything that may contact broken skin should not be shared. Keep implements to one person where possible.
Hang or lay flat
Store floggers hanging so the falls do not kink, away from damp and direct sunlight.
Asked quietly, answered plainly.
What should we start with?+
A soft flogger or a tickler, used on the buttocks, with a blindfold. Start far lighter than you think is needed. It is easy to increase intensity and impossible to take it back.
What is the difference between thud and sting?+
Broad, heavy implements spread force and feel thuddy, like deep pressure. Small, fast ones concentrate it and feel stingy, sharper and more surface level. Most people clearly prefer one.
Is bruising normal?+
Light marking is common and usually fades within days. Broken skin, welts that do not fade, or bruising that spreads or worsens afterwards are not routine and warrant medical advice.
Are single-tail whips suitable for beginners?+
No. They are difficult to aim, can break skin easily, and take real practice to use safely. Learn on a flogger or paddle first.
Should we avoid this if someone takes blood thinners?+
Speak with a doctor first. Medication affecting clotting makes bruising and deeper bleeding considerably more likely from the same force.
How is it delivered?+
In plain, unbranded packaging with a discreet billing descriptor. Nothing on the outside indicates what is inside.
